Tall Poppy Café is a funky, family-friendly restaurant on the Main Street of Wellington, Ontario. We offer flavourful fare with ingredients fresh from our farm and those of our neighbours in beautiful Prince Edward County. Changing blackboard menu that reflects the seasons and our own whimsy. Barista service, deli counter with take-away. Free Wi-Fi and a comfortable place to put your feet up and watch the world go by. Licensed.
The true test of a café is the coffee it serves, of course. We’re brewing Phil & Sebastian direct trade coffee on a Synesso espresso machine. Integrity and quality meets state-of-the art craftsmanship to create an unbelievably delicious cup of coffee.
It’s a beautiful room. Many original features have been carefully retained: pressed tin wall and ceiling panels, worn hardwood floor, textured glass up top of the front windows. And we’ve added vintage items to evoke the feeling of a 1940s farm kitchen, including an old radio, industrial ceiling lights and a countertop of wood reclaimed from behind the ceiling. It’s comfortable and relaxed and the light that fills the room in the late afternoon invites you to linger just a little bit longer over coffee.
