Gudrun Gallo

Gudrun (Finnbogadottir) Gallo was born in Iceland in 1964. She graduated from Durham College inOshawa, ON with a Graphic Design diploma in the mid 80′s. She worked as a design editor and art director for many well known National magazine publications and newspapers in Toronto, includingThe Toronto Star and The Globe and Mail National Newspaper before moving to the County in 2001 with her young family.

Gudrun has been painting for many years though more formally in the last ten years cultivating her own style in acrylic, and oil. Her work has been collected privately, though, can been seen publicly as well. Gudrun has displayed her art in various shows and galleries throughout South eastern Ontario.

Judy Plomer

It was in the late 1990’s that Judy’s need to express her creative “Pisces” spirit began.

After many years in the Sales and Marketing field in the Toronto area she began to study professional artists in the Durham, Markham and Prince Edward County areas.

Judy marked her debut as an artist in 1999 when her work was accepted into the Prince Edward County “Art in the County” juried art show, an honour to be repeated many more times. Her work has been featured in numerous art shows, exhibitions and fundraisers throughout Ontario and her work is with collectors through out Canada. She is a member of the Prince Edward County Arts Council, the Arts on Main Gallery in Picton, the Sidestreet Gallery in Wellington and the Algonquin Expeditionary Group of Artists.

Judy loves to work in all mediums, especially fluid acrylics, oils, and pastels, always creating paintings of daring and exciting texture and design. Her artistic journey continues discovering new applications of creativity and expression.

Her home is in the Black River area of Prince Edward County where she is inspired daily by her peaceful, beautiful surroundings.

The saying on her studio wall says it all…….. “Imagine and Believe”.

Mary-Lou Ashton

Drawing and painting have been in Mary Lou’s life since she was a child. Her first careers in medical laboratory technology and, later, electron microscopy technologies have given her a wealth of images for her art. Having been somewhat self taught, she enrolled in visual art at York University receiving her BFA shortly before she retired to the County to follow her passion for art.

She works in multimedia both in realism and abstract.
