Last month, Tapas night was a huge success, thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the evening.

Every Sunday now, we are having live music in the cafe.  Station Road takes over the cafe on Sunday afternoons . The band features  Eric Pilgrim, Conrad Beaubien, and David and Michelle Simmonds and friends! Come in, spend a relaxing afternoon in the cafe with good food and drinks!

We are having a Mexican night, February 10th and an Indian night on February 24th. Call for reservations, Mexican night is filling up and the last Indian night sold out!

Appetizers

Guac & chips Avocado salsa, salsa fresca, & nachos

Empenadas- Chicken, chorizo or vegetarian parcels wrapped & fried in masa dough pockets

Pargo  ceviche-lime juice cured snapper, red onion, cilantro, tomato, tortilla chips

Scallop ceviche- ruby red grapefruit, avocado, mint, hint of honey, tortilla  chips

Pork tostada- Bbq pulled pork, black bean  roast pepper & corn salsa, crema on crispy tortilla

Tostada camaron- spiced prawns, house guacamole, honey lime papaya on crispy tortilla

Nachos con Queso- 3 cheese nacho, oven baked & served with salsa fresca, & sour cream

Tacos- 2 Soft or hard shell, served with rice, black beans, & salad

Tacos de pollo- shredded chicken with onion, guacamole, cheese, salsa fresca & lettuce

Tacos de pescado- beer battered fried fish taco, chilli herb aioli & shredded cabbage, salsa

Tacos con asada- grilled steak strips with mushroom, sauteed peppers & onions, salsa guacamole

Vegetarian- Roast peppers, onion, mushrooms, cheese, guacamole, lettuce & salsa fresca

Burritos-choice of filling rolled in a warm tortilla, then baked & served with rice, & salad

La Carne de Cerdo- Adobo bbq pulled pork with white beans, fresh cilantro, wild rice, & cheese

Pollo- Shredded chicken, shaved red onion, avocado, spinach, black beans & cheese

Vegetarian- Roast peppers, mushrooms, onion, herbs, beans, quinoi  & cheese

Enchiladas- filling wrapped in tortilla, covered with sauce & baked, served with rice & salad

Vegetarian-Sweet & white potato, roast bell peppers, corn, zuchinni, black beans roast onion & garlic with red sauce

Carne asada- strips of pepper steak, mushrooms, roast peppers, roast onion, corn & cilantro & green sauce

Enchiladas de Pollo al Mole-Shredded chicken, roast onions & peppers, corn, mole sauce & pepitos(pumpkin seeds)

Patricia Sztuke raised near Wellington, and living currently in “the County”, Patricia Sztuke has a country home between Bloomfield and Wellington where a rolling sweep of land greets you with a now iconic yellow bicycle. Raising a family, teaching, operating a small business, still allowed for the arts and crafts of a talented artist. Working with textiles and design has been a lifelong journey inspired by a great grandmother’s patchwork quilts. Pat has been quilting seriously for the past 15 years. A member of Prince Edward Quilt Guild and the Quinte Fibre Artists, she continues to learn new techniques and expand her knowledge of media and design. A recent trip to South Africa has prompted a dance-like series of small quilts. A number of larger whimsical appliqué pieces are an evolving part of new and different work.  In this show at the Tall Poppy, Patricia is presenting a variety of more traditional quilts. Her diverse but masterful technique is evident in these beautiful pieces, ranging from her classic “Swans in Reflection” to her complex and charming “Bargello 1”. Her work can be enjoyed here at the Tall Poppy for January and February and is for sale.
