We’re running a contest at the café this week. We want you to nominate a Tall Poppy in your life: someone who stands above the crowd – literally or because of their hard work, dedication and vision. If their name is drawn, they will win dinner for two on us and a pair of Festival Players theatre tickets.

Why are we doing this? It’s a fun way for us to give back to the community that has supported us so enthusiastically since we opened, less than three months ago. Festival Players gave us the tickets to thank us for our help with the opening night reception of their second show, Tempting Providence (playing this week only at Fields on West Lake. Tickets here.) We wanted to share the wealth, and sweeten the pot (and add a few more clichés to this write-up).

Drop into the café anytime between now and close on Saturday night and fill out a ballot. We may ask you for a line or two about why you’re nominating this Tall Poppy. We’ll post some responses – anonymously – at a future date.
